Well, we're back from our wonderful Caribben vacation. We spent 7 days at a small-ish resort on the southern coast of the Dominan Republic near La Romana. Our trip started off on a nice note with an upgrade to first class down to LAX. From there, it was long layovers in LAX and San Juan, PR... The resort was nice. Can't complain for the price. We got our room changed after one night as we were originally next to the pool bar that stayed open till 1am and the room's AC was not functioning very well.
So - what did we do with our time? Spent a whole lot of it laying on this lovely beach and jumping into the water when the sun would get too warm, the book would get dull or the sudoku would get too tough. It was a rough rough week. But someone had to do it.
On top of it all, we had an amazing oceanfront cottage with views like this every night. The food was ok - by far our favorite meal was the mexican place in the resort. The drinks were weak...but who can complain at an all-inclusive (though the margarita had so much triple sec it was undrinkable).
