Yokohama Train Station....

We managed to spend an entire Sunday exploring the area within a few blocks of th Yokohama train station...and didn't even scratch the surface.

First stop...the Don Quixote store.  Think if it as crazy packed Target. Food, cosmetics, anything you could possibly need.  They have an entire floor of various foodstuff...including "smorked" cheese.  For only ¥100, we will try anything!  It was actually quite good...

Made our way to one of my favorite stores -Tokyu Hands. They had an entire rack of beautiful sunglasses....

After exploring above grand for a while, we hit the food basement under Takashimaya and the train station.  This is a cake that is made on a big rolling pin, basically.  Crazy...

Ginormous lucky sushi rolls for Chinese New Year.

Delicious eclairs...definitely splurged on a couple of these buties!

Remember that cake from earlier?  They apparently cook it in a cake rotisserie...

Custards in perfect egg shells.  Definitely will try these another day, if I can remember where the store is.

Ha!  We found the Lush store!  This was the first one I think I've ever been to that I couldn't smell it before I saw it.  It was little, but packed with all the right things.  Logan loved the jelly body wash...

I loved....everything!

We recharged for a bit at a small taproom called Thrash Zone.  They brew some awesome beers and also import some great ones from the US.  Sound Brewing from Poulsbo, as well as Stone Brewing, Green Flash, Ballast Point..,plus a host of others, all has had beers here at various times.  The kid felt right at home with munching on peanuts in a bar.  Oy.

It feels kind of silly that we spent an entire day around a train station.  Kiddo was getting a little antsy to play...but, we saw all kinds of cool stuff....there are lots more weekends for parks and playing!
